" M.. mm. Mother..." Slavani took a deap breath" "Yes Slavani, what is wrong" Mother asked. Slavani started to cry . "Mother I had to tell you something" " I know Slavani, Eagle told me" Mother said. Slavani looked at his mother's eyes and saw that they turned green. " Mother!!! He started. Slavani's mother put her finger on his lips. "Shush, Slavani, I love you and your brother so much so I ask Eagle to keep an eye on the two of you.I am glad you learned a good lesson today. In those days there were no matches or lighters. Slavani's father had taugh him to light a fire with very fine dried grass and two sticks. He placed the grass down and started to rub the two stick together very fast. This caused more and more heat between the two sticks and as soon as he saw a little smoke, he blew on the stitcks until he saw a small flame.He carefully put the sticks on the grass and kept on blowing till the flame grew and the grass started to burn. Then he put more wood on the fire and felt very proud of himself when the fire took hold. |

Slavani's friend Bombo the tiger came to him. " Let's go and play" He said, pulling Slavani by the arm. " Wait Bomboo, mother wanted to tell me a secret" Slavani said . " Yes Slavani I do have a big surprice for you",Mother said." I invited your two friends Theka and Thembe to visit you today" " Oh Mother, thank you! thank you!!" Slavani gave her a hug and ran outside to play with Bomboo. |

They called Dumbe the bird" Dumbe please fly as high as you can and come and tell us when you can see Thembe and Theka coming. " Kweek! kweek! kweek!.. I'll do that... I like them... kweek! kweek! kweek!" Dumbe said and off he flew. |

Slavani was so happy that he ran and jumped on Mongame the sheep's back and they played until both of them were short of breath. " Here they come!! Kweek! kweek! ...Here they come" Dumbe screamed. |

" Let's play hide and seek" Thembe said. So Theka and Slavani hid behind an old dried tree trunk while Thembe is counting to ten with her eyes closed.Every now and then they peep to see if Thembe is coming. They played all day long and enjoyed the food mother made for them. Then it was time for his friends to go home." Slavani we have'nt seen your bow yet" they said. |

Slavani climbed his favourite tree and heard a voice. "Slavani,you made me so proud today by being so giving to your friends,. You'll be a very blessed boy because there is no bigger blessing than to be giving." Slavani smiled and looked around. He heard a rumble.......Now who was talking to Slavani???
